Frequently Asked Questions: 800VGT
Q: How do I setup my router?
A: The package content of the 800VGT comes with a QSG and an installation disc. You should read through the QSG and play all the videos on the disc. Follow the instructions precisely; this will guide you step by step through the setup. Should you have any problems contact the Helpdesk for assistance?
Q: What is my routers password?
A: The default user name and password are ‘admin’ and ‘admin’. At the last step of the Easy Setup Wizard, you can change the router password; ensure that you make a note of what you changed it to.
If you do not remember what you changed the password to, then you’ll have to do a factory reset on the router. To reset the router insert in a sharp object preferably a pin at the back of the router into the reset hole and hold down for 6 to 8 seconds (page 4 of the Quick Start Guide). It is important to remember to perform the installation again as all user defined settings will have been restored to factory default.
Q: How do I install the router on a MAC?
A: The installation software provided with the 800VGT does not support Apple MAC.
The user can do the Hardware installation as follows;
Connect the ADSL wall-socket with the ‘IN’ port on the power adapter using one of the grey telephone cables. Then connect the supplied splitter to the ‘OUT’ port on the power adapter. Now connect the ‘ADSL’ port on the splitter to the ‘ADSL’ port on the router using the red telephone cable.
Connect the ‘yellow’ network cable to the network port of your MAC OS and plug the other end to the LAN port 1 on the back of the Billion 800VGT router.
Connect the telephone handset to the telephone ‘port 1’ on the router using a standard telephone cable then connect the phone port on the splitter to the line port on the router, using the green telephone cable.
