Why do I need an ADSL Splitter? (or POTS filter)
An ADSL Splitter (or POTS filter) must be connected to every secondary Telkom wall-socket where the user wants to use other phone devices (incl. Fax machines or alarm systems). Line synch problems will occur on your router when such devices are connected to the ADSL line without using an ADSL Splitter (or POTS filter).
The benefit of an ADSL Splitter over an ADSL POTS filter is that a splitter can accommodate both an ADSL modem as well as a standard telephone device whereas a POTS filter only accommodates standard telephone devices and can complicate a setup when you want to connect your ADSL modem as well as a telephone device at a single location.
Specifications
- The ADSL Splitter is compatible with all ADSL coding schemes.
